CRACK THE CODE AND ESCAPE VIA THE GUADALQUIVIR

Escape Seville

Escape Seville is a fully personalised city game that transforms Seville's historic centre into the setting for an exciting escape story. Working in teams, participants travel back to 16th-century Seville, when ships sailed down the Guadalquivir towards the New World.

The objective? Collect the correct travel documents, crack the final code and reach the boat in time.

Along the way, teams discover famous monuments, hidden squares and narrow streets while solving puzzles, completing missions and taking on creative photo and video challenges. An active team-building experience focused on collaboration, communication, strategy and discovering Seville in an interactive way.

A CITY GAME WITH ONE ULTIMATE OBJECTIVE: ESCAPE FROM SEVILLE

The activity can start almost anywhere in the city centre, for example directly from the group's hotel. Participants are divided into teams named after famous neighbourhoods of Seville, such as Triana, Santa Cruz, Arenal and Macarena.

Each team receives a locked backpack containing the game materials. Before the real mission can even begin, participants must establish contact with the mysterious El Fletante de Indias, an intermediary with the right connections to eventually get them aboard the ship.

From there, the teams follow a route through the historic centre, with each mission revealing a new part of their journey.

COLLECT THE DOCUMENTS FOR THE NEW WORLD

To leave Seville, the teams must prove that their fictional traveller meets all the requirements to depart for the New World.

During the different missions, they must obtain:

  • Autorización de la Corona
  • Sello de Buen Vecino
  • Certificado de Soltería e Identidad
  • Prueba de Sangre
  • confirmation of their Destino
  • Acreditación de Mercader
  • Manifiesto de Carga

The missions take participants through locations including Santa Cruz, Plaza del Triunfo, the Cathedral area, Plaza del Cabildo and the former Casa de la Moneda.

During each mission, teams discover a number that must be entered in their Expediente de Pasajero a Indias. Once all the documents have been collected, they can use these numbers to solve the formula and reveal the five-digit final code.

THE FINALE AT THE GUADALQUIVIR

The route ends beside the Guadalquivir, for example at the Torre del Oro.

Here, El Fletante de Indias is waiting for the teams. Only when their complete travel dossier has been correctly completed will they be allowed to attempt to open the hidden safe.

Crack the safe and they will find their Licencia para Pasar a Indias inside: their final authorisation to board the ship.

The mission is complete — and the participants can finally make their escape by water.

THE FASTEST TEAM DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY WIN

Escape Seville is about more than speed.

Almost every mission also includes a creative photo or video challenge. Teams recreate historical situations, become merchants or street performers and complete group challenges at unique locations around the city.

Only teams that complete their documents and successfully open the safe are eligible to win. Their photo and video challenges are then judged.

The team with the most fun, original and best-executed challenges wins Escape Seville.

This means creativity, teamwork and fun remain just as important as solving the puzzles throughout the experience.

CHOOSE YOUR ESCAPE ROUTE ALONG THE GUADALQUIVIR

The finale can be adapted to the size and programme of the group.

For smaller and more active groups, participants can continue their escape in 8-person canoes or 2-person kayaks.

Alternatively, the teams can board a boat. Various options are available, ranging from smaller boats for approximately 10, 20 or 50 passengers to larger vessels with capacity for groups of up to approximately 350 participants.

The boat experience can also be extended with drinks, music, catering, a prize-giving ceremony or a networking moment on board.

This way, the city game does not simply end after the final mission: the escape along the Guadalquivir becomes part of the complete experience.
