Huelva is one of Spain's most unexplored provinces. Perhaps that is why you can best enjoy the real Spain here. In addition to the traditions, many of the Spanish delicacies come from this province. The best Pata Negra, Spanish ham, comes from the mountains of Huelva, and the tastiest Gambas come from the ports of Huelva. Huelva is known in Spain for its traditions, did you know that the most important pilgrimage in Spain is the Camino Rociero. Once a year, the brotherhoods travel from all the villages and towns in the area by horse and carriage to El Rocio, a very special village in Huelva.
We recommend this tour through Huelva for adventurous groups who are looking for an authentic experience and want to get to places where you as a regular tourist will not easily find yourself.
Day 1: Arrival day
The arrival day we start with a welcome lunch. It will be a relaxed day during which there is all the time to chat with each other, have drinks at the pool of the hotel and enjoy the tranquility of the Doñana National Park that surrounds the hotel. For dinner we will prepare an amazing wine pairing dinner with local dishes and wines combined with a flamenco show.
Day 2: Camino Rociero
We suggest to dive deep in the culture of Andalusia and go for a Camino Rociero. With a horse and carriage we ride through the pine trees of Doñana and make various stops, for a delicious aperitif with entertainment from a local music group, a Coro Rociero consisting of flamenco dancers, singers and guitars. While the entertainment of our Coro Rociero continues the ride goes on until we reach our final stop, a rural lunch is waiting for us in the middle of nature. With the service and quality of a restaurant, we enjoy a delicious lunch in a unique environment.
Optionally, we can go on with the party and have an open bar with entertainment in the middle of nature.
Once we are back to the hotel we suggest that there will be some time of for siesta or to enjoy the pool of the hotel.
We end this day with another amazing dinner at the hotel.
Day 3: A visit to Mars & Bodega Tour
A marching landscape on earth? Those are the banks of the Rio Tinto River. The water of this red river contains many metals and micro-organisms that provide the special red color. Life is not possible, or is it? NASAis investigating life in this unlikely environment. In the morning we organize a hike along his unique river with a local guide who tells all the peculiarities of this alien landscape.
After this hike we move to a nearby village where we start our Bodegas Tour We discover the process of aged wines and brandy that the region is famous for. Optionally we can organize a visit to the vineyards with a white wine tasting.
We eindigen ons landelijke avontuur in Huelva met een privélunch bij een familiebodega in het dorp, voordat we naar het vliegveld gaan.
