ENJOY THE MOST AUTHENTIC REGION OF SPAIN

Incentive Trip Huelva

Huelva is one of the most undiscovered provinces of Spain. Perhaps this is why it’s the best place to enjoy the true Spain. In addition to traditions, many Spanish delicacies come from this province. The finest Pata Negra, Spanish ham, comes from the mountains of Huelva, and the tastiest prawns are from its ports. Huelva is renowned in Spain for its traditions. Did you know that the most important pilgrimage in Spain is the Camino Rociero? Every year, brotherhoods from villages and cities in the region travel by horse and carriage to El Rocío, a very special village in Huelva.
We recommend this tour through Huelva for adventurous groups looking for an authentic experience, taking them to places where regular tourists rarely venture.

Day 1: Into the Mountains
On the first day, you will discover the mountains of Huelva, known for its artisanal cheeses and Iberian Jamon (cured ham), the Pata Negra, which is as organic as meat production gets. Did you know that this is the only type of meat that lowers cholesterol levels?
Upon arrival, we organize a mountain bike route with a visit to a cheese or pig farm. Here, we will tour the facilities, explain the artisanal processes, and enjoy a tasting and a cheese-making or ham-carving workshop. We conclude the visit with a lunch of traditional dishes made from local products before continuing our journey to the village of Aracena.
In Aracena, we will check into a 4-star hotel, and there will be time for free time and perhaps a well-deserved siesta.
At the end of the afternoon, we will visit the Grutas de las Maravillas, one of the most beautiful stalactite caves and a must-see in the region.
We will end the day with dinner at one of the best restaurants in the village.
As an optional evening activity, we can organize a stargazing session with a professional astronomer. The mountains of Huelva are one of the places with the least light pollution in Europe, making it a perfect place to study the Milky Way.

Day 2: A Visit to Mars
A Martian landscape on Earth? That’s what the banks of the Rio Tinto river look like. The water of this red river contains many metals and microorganisms that give it its unusual red color. Life cannot exist here… or can it? NASA is currently researching life in this unlikely environment. We will visit the river on a guided walk, where our guide will explain all the unique features of this place.
Optionally, we can organize a 4x4 off-road rally from Aracena to Rio Tinto, a unique experience with real off-road vehicles that participate in official competitions (this will incur an additional cost).
The Rio Tinto hike will end at a bull farm, where we will observe these impressive animals in the vast fields before enjoying lunch in this unique setting, optionally accompanied by a horse show with genuine Iberian horses.
Another option is to replace the lunch with a Paella cooking workshop.
After lunch, we will move to La Palma to discover the Bodegas Rubio, a special winery where the legend of Luis Felipe began. The story goes that the French left barrels of wine here, which were discovered decades later. These aged wines became the foundation for a new type of wine that is now sold in limited quantities at exclusive prices worldwide. Our guide will end the visit with a tasting of these special brandies.
We will end day 2 with dinner in El Rocío, the western village surrounded by Doñana National Park, and stay overnight in a typical hotel.

Day 3: Doñana and El Rocío
El Rocío is one of those places that is hard to describe—you have to see it. In addition to being a pilgrimage site, Spaniards love coming here on weekends to ride horses and enjoy the beautiful nature of Doñana. The village is entirely unpaved, with special high bars where you can drink a beer while on your horse, and the traditional houses have terraces where neighbors drink, sing, and dance together, while horses are tied to the posts in front of each house.
Doñana National Park is known for its many birds that live in the wetlands, serving as an important stop for migratory birds between Europe and Africa. You can also find unique animals like lynx, wild horses, cows, deer, and large colonies of flamingos.
In the morning, we will start with a 4x4 safari through the wetlands of Doñana. Armed with binoculars, a telescope, and an English-speaking guide, we will venture out to spot wildlife and enjoy this vast nature reserve.
After leaving the wetlands, we will head into the forests where horse-drawn carriages will be waiting for us. We will ride back to El Rocío, but not before enjoying a delicious aperitif with entertainment from a local music group, a Coro Rociero consisting of flamenco dancers, singers, and guitarists. We will ride through the forests in the carriages while the entertainment from the Coro Rociero continues. We will make one last stop where lunch awaits us in the middle of nature. With the service and quality of a restaurant, we will enjoy a delicious lunch in a unique setting.
The tour will end in El Rocío, where we will visit the church before boarding the bus for our final ride to Seville.
Depending on the flight times, there may still be time for free time and dinner in Seville.
